Artur Haftman, Pianist

Pianist Artur Haftman was born in Poland and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal College of Music in London with Professor Dmitri Alexeev. At the same time he is studying with Professor Maurizio Moretti in La Schola Cantorum in Paris. At the Royal College of Music he is the recipient of the RCM Foundation Scholarship. He has received several awards, including: The Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Award of the Major of Stargard Szczecinski and the Award of the National Fund for Children.
Artur Haftman has also participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Arie Vardi, Matti Raekallio, Mikhail Voskresensky, Andrzej Jasinski, Janina Fialkowska, Viera Nosina, Andzrej Tatarski, Phiilippe Giusiano, Kevin Kenner, Jaroslaw Drzewiecki and Alberto Nose.

Artur is the winner of numerous international competitions including First Prize in the: International Music Competition “Musicaclassica” in Moscow (2012), 16th International Piano Festival in Druskininkai in Lithuania (2011), International Piano Competition in Palma de Mallorca (2011), 7th International Chopin Competition in Narva in Estonia (2010), Concours International de Piano in Paris (2006).
He is laureate of ‘Villa de Xabia’ International Piano Competition in Xabia in Spain, “Cesar Franck International Piano Competition” in Brussels (2014), 10th International Piano Competition “Arthur Rubinstein im memoriam” in Bydgoszcz (2014) and “Gold Parnas” (The grand prize) at International Piano Forum “Bieszczady bez granic” in Sanok (2013).

He made his concerto début at the age of eight with the Koszalin Youth Symphony Orchestra with which he performed twice more. At the age of sixteen he performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with symphonic orchestra under Mykola Diadura, the Artistic Director of Szczecin Philharmonic, during the Chopin festival in Szczecin in 2010. Following his performances during the Piano Forum “Bieszczady bez granic” in Sanok in 2012 he was invited to perform with famous Polish soprano Malgorzata Walewska.

Artur Haftman has presented solo recitals across Poland, the United Kingdom, Estonia, France, Lithuania and Slovakia. He recently performed in the Pallant House Gallery in Chichester, Steinway Hall and St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London.
